What foods can trigger eczema in babies?
Does anyone know? I am breastfeeding and I am currently trying to understand what foods I can eat my baby cause rashes on the face. I eat lots of vegetables and citrus cheese, yogurt, lean chicken, fish, etc.
For my daughter's eczema flares when she eats dairy products, eggs and soy. She since she was 2 months. She is 14 months now, and once we finally understood what foods irritated her skin got sooooo much better. It are also other things that could be possible culprits, such as wheat, peanuts or fish / seafood, or perhaps even berries. What I would (if you can) is to eliminate everything that is a common allergens from your diet, such as dairy products, soybeans, wheat, eggs and peanuts. It will be hard, but you have to eat mostly fruits and vegetables. You can substitute rice milk Rice Dream for regular milk. Try this for a few weeks and see if it helps. If you notice an improvement, start adding foods one at a time. Try adding milk for a week and see what happens. If anything, add soy, ect, ect. If you find something does not tend to make him / her further, while eliminating completely for a week, then add a new food, because there is a possibility you more food. Also, with my daughter, she is also allergic cats and dogs. She even winded around cats and facial rashes. Also, I must be careful what kind of laundry soap I use. Some are too strong for sensitive skin. Unfortunately, eczema appears to be a combo of many things, and it makes you feel that you're a scientist trying to figure in all this. If you are looking for a good cream I highly recommend Aquaphor mixed with cream cons Triple Paste diaper rash. The Both are on the counter and helped the skin of my daughter more than any prescription we've tried. It is simply on his face now, and I Mix the two creams and rub it on his chin and ceeks and relieves many flares. Good luck to you! I know how frustrating it can be!
